He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Lairson and Pauline Watson Lairson; and his wife Wanda Mills Lairson. He is survived by: his son Jimmy Dean Lairson (Heather) of Wendell; his grandchildren, Jordan Lairson (Katie), Jessi Lairson and Caraline Laffler; and his great grandchildren, Bailey and Alexa.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Crystal Coast Hospice House, 100 Big Rock Weigh, Newport, NC 28570.
