It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Thomas Mauk of Emerald Isle, North Carolina, who passed away on October 13, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Elliot and Tressie Trusty Mauk; his siblings, Robert, Charles Mauk and Geraldine Morgan; and his grandson Brian Hughes.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Fout Mauk; his children, Thaisa M. Focht of Emerald Isle, Cheryl L. Balthrop (Brian) of Newport and Stephen J. Mauk of Beaufort; his grandchildren, Matthew Balthrop, Caitlin Baer, Kendrea Garand, James Mauk, II and Jared Mauk; his great grandchildren, James, Ayden, Harper Baer and Melody Garand; and his sister Darlene Miller of Wheelersburg, OH..
