She was predeceased by: her parents, Lydia Gibson and R. J. Gibson; her brother R. J. Gibson, Jr.; her sister-in-law Lou Gibson; and her niece Sue Meserve.
She is survived by: her children, Dan Lauffer (Maryann) of Durham, Lisa Johnson (Jody) of Fuquay Varina and Laura Lauffer of Crystal Bluffs; her grandchildren, Lizzy Nelli (Nate) of Raleigh, Sarah Lauffer (Camden) of Seattle, Washington and Jon Lauffer of Baltimore, Maryland; her sister Vivian Gibson of High Point; and her nieces, Kim Kellagher (Dennis) of Bel Air and Linda Lauffer (Al) of New York City.
