He was predeceased by: his spouse Shirley Baize Wheeley; and his sisters, Eleanor Ray and Carolyn Newell. He is survived by: his children, Teresa Diane Wheeley Williamson of Elon, Thomas Dale Wheeley of Elon and Timothy Lynn Wheeley (Bonnie) of Elon; his grandchildren, Heather Harris, Brian Wheeley, Jessica Wheeley, Corey Wheeley, Travis Wheeley and Hannah Wheeley; his stepgrandchildren, Scott Wade, Michael Wade and Chris Wade; his great grandchildren, Destiny Pruitt and Cameron Pruitt; his niece Sharon McDonald; and his sister Romona Flynn. He is also survived by father and grandfather.
