We are sad to announce that on June 27, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Thelma Oakes of Elon, North Carolina, born in Rockingham, North Carolina. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Monroe King and Addie Lou Duggins King; her son Jesse Earl Light; her grandson David Michael Light; and her great grandchildren, Trina Sheppard and Patrick Venable.
She is survived by: her children, Willie Light (Wanda), Mike Light (Darlene), Kathy Loy and Timmy Light (Terri); her sister Linda Tucker (Wayne); and her daughter-in-law Cathy Light. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kerrs Chapel Baptist Church, 2980 Kerr's Chapel Road, Elon NC 27244 or to the Hospice Home, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington NC 27215.
