He is survived by: his parents, Elijah James and Alcora James; his wife Catina James; his children, Sabrina Nicole James and Caleb Alexander James; his sister Tonya Jackson (David); his brother-in-law H. Jermaine Dunn; his father-in-law Herbert Dunn (Dale); his nephew Joshua Jackson; and his half-sister Barbara Brown. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In Lieu of flowers and food, the family is requesting donations to the educational fund of Sabrina & Caleb James.
