He was predeceased by: his parents, John Harvey Reid Stewart and Angie Mansfield Stewart; and his sister Patricia Barrett. He is survived by: his wife June Holmes Stewart; his son James Christian Reid Stewart (Heather Herrick Stewart) of Morganton; his grandsons, Robert Benjamin Reid Stewart of Boone and Graham Nicholas Reid Stewart of Boone; and his brother John Christian Reid Stewart (Edith) of Greensboro. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
