With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Alan Scroggs of Elon, North Carolina, born in Roaring River, North Carolina, who passed away on December 26, 2024 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though James may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gales Scroggs and Ethel Scroggs (Greene); his wife Peggy West; and his siblings, Madeline, Rachel and Gales, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Jim Scroggs of Drexel Hill and Nancy Wyrick (Ernie) of Delta Junction; and his brother-in-law Don Sturkey of Belmont. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
