She was predeceased by: her parents, James Calhoun Mason and Mary Davis Mason; and her husband Max Blaine Sharpe. She is survived by: her daughter Cynthia Sharpe (Rodney Cheek); her grandchildren, Addison Cheek and Caroline Cheek; and her siblings, Anne Mason Melvin and Robert Danny Mason, Sr. (Cathie).
She volunteered with the Granville County Library as well as the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide service.
