She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Owens and Nealie Owens; her brothers, Richard Gaston Owens and Charles Melvin Owens; her former husband Joseph Wendell Manning; and her husband Robert Davis Barringer.

She is survived by: her children, Ann Manning Tucker (Tommy) of Elm City, Debi Manning Newton (Dub) of Wilson, Spencer Manning (Ann) of Wilson and Mike Manning (LuEllen) of Elm City; and her grandchildren, Tonia Tucker Cook (Clark) of Staunton, Virginia, Missy Schmid (Ken) of Wilson, Dr. Lauren Manning (Peter Dennis) of Portland, Nickie Manning Warrick (Jay) of Goldsboro, Spencer Manning, Jr. (Amanda Nunnery) of Benson and Bobby Manning (Lori) of Bailey. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
