She was predeceased by: her mother Mary Louise "Queenie" Sawyer (Elsworth "Clennie" Demeritt). She is survived by: her children, Shelly Thorne (John) and Darrell Demeritt; her grandchildren, Jennifer Demeritt, John Thorne and Andrew Demeritt; her great grandchildren, Jazmine Carter, Jailah Carter, Tyrin Demeritt and Alana Demeritt; and her significant other Maya. She is also survived by sister-in-law; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
