We are sad to announce that on August 18, 2023, at the age of 56, Melody Starr Godwin of Elm City, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She is survived by: her husband Danny Gregory Godwin; her children, April Lynnsey Forrest (Nicholas) of Wentzville, MO and Samuel Gregory Godwin (Brandi Deans) of Sandy Cross; her parents, Norman Joyner and Judy Joyner of Nashville; her brother Randy Joyner (Diane) of Grandy; her grandchildren, Sylvia Rose Forrest and William Glover; her parents-in-law, Dan and June Godwin; her siblings-in-law, Lynn Wilson (Cloyce) and Mark Godwin (Ginger) of Wilson; and her aunts and uncles, Donald, Helen Baker, David and Becky Allen. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, many family friends, and other extended relatives.
In lieu of flowers, it was Melody's wish to direct memorial donations to one of the following impactful foundations: Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Pretty In Pink Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
