It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnny Raper of Elm City, North Carolina, who passed away on September 14, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Kermit Raper and Maybelle Narron Raper; and his siblings, Gail Johnson (Ray), Jeanette Boykin (Clovis), Bobby Raper and Teeny Boy Raper (Carolyn).
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Davis Raper; his children, Pam Barrett (Charles IV) of Wilson and Tim B. Raper (Julie Messer) of Raleigh; his grandsons, Graham Raper and Garrett Raper; his brother Jerry Raper (Debbie) of Wilson; and his sister-in-law Judy Raper of Stancils Chapel.
