He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jane Priddy Childress; his parents, Coleman Bryant and Ruby Kennedy Childress; and his brother Kenneth Childress (Suzi). He is survived by: his children, Amanda Childress Brown (Eric) of Fremont, Dale Childress (Cindy) of Elm City and Scott Childress (Lisa) of Wilson; his grandchildren, Kala Childress, Randall Childress (Blair), Dana Childress, Shannon Childress (Justin Webb), Abby Hill, Conner Wellong, Samantha Wellong and Spencer Price; his nephew Bobby Price (Denise); and his siblings, Emma Price of Yadkinville, Gene Craig and Gary Childress of Greensboro. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
