It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl Johnson of Elm City, North Carolina, who passed away on May 28, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper Johnson and Rachel Watson Johnson of Wilson County; and his siblings, Lula Strickland and Riley Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Winstead Johnson; his stepchildren, Betsy Sullivan (Hunter) of Wilson and Butch O'Briant (Dianne) of Wilson; his stepgrandchildren, Anna Sullivan, Grace Heath (Corey) and Kim Coleman (Chan); his great great grandchildren, Keenan Coleman (Halei) and Cassie Coleman; his stepgrandchildren, Saint Coleman and Indy Coleman; and his siblings, Kathleen Whitley (Dwight) of Kenly, Esther Windham (Charles) of Little Rock, AK, Jasper Johnson (Beth) of Wilson and Walter Durwood Johnson (Bonnie) of Fremont.
