He was predeceased by: his parents, John McIver and Jessie Blanche McIntyre Nicholson; his wife Dotelene "Dot" McFayden Nicholson; and his siblings, Mary Ann Nicholson and Lionel K. Nicholson (Amelia).
He is survived by: his daughter Linda Nicholson Mabe (Carl); his grandson Ben Stamets (Carla); his great grandchildren, Ava and Wesley Stamets; and his children, Doug McFayden (Beverly), Steve McFayden, Anne Thompson (Johnny), Patricia Clark (Hugh), Carol Elder (Joe), Dianne McGreevy (Chris), Tommy Covington (Belda), Janice Watkins Terry (Steve) and Laurie Nicholson.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mt Carmel Presbyterian Church (1367 Clayton Carriker Rd, Candor, NC 27229).
