He was predeceased by: his parents, Colon A. McFayden and Etta F. McFayden; his wife Mildred Bost McFayden (Peggy); his son Jerry McFayden; and his siblings, Ralph McFayden, Colon McFayden, Willard McFayden, Jean McFayden and Lillian Sherrill.
He is survived by: his children, Elaine Francis of Aberdeen, Ellen Jones (Dan) of Mount Gilead, Laura Farrell (Robert) of Aberdeen and Larry McFayden (Lynette) of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Melinda Benson (Graham), Robert Farrell (Lindsay Rhodes), Stephen Farrell (Mariah Nichols), Rebecca Jarrells (Billy), Daniel Jones (Ashley), James McFayden and Timothy McFayden (Katie); his great grandchildren, Faith McFayden, Grace McFayden, Hope McFayden, Greylon Jones and Harold Benson; his daughter-in-law Ruth McFayden Freeman; and his brother Robert McFayden (Marie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
