He was predeceased by: his parents, Coy Melvin Stutts and Carrie Octavia Hall Stutts; his son Jerry Lee Stutts; and his sister Shirley Joann Hill. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Faye Stutts; his children, Wendy Stutts (Talmadge Ward), Patrick Gray Stutts (Nikki), Cambi Powell (Marcus), Ellerbe and Gary Sheffield of Siler City; and his brothers, Phillip Stutts (Faye) and Danny Stutts. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren.
