She was predeceased by: her parent Lonnie Green; her husband James Ralph McFayden; and her siblings, Glenn Phillips of Eli, L. G., Joe Phillips, Beatrice Nall, Bonnie Purvis, Alice Johnson and Helen Comer.
She is survived by: her parent Mattie Green Shields Phillips; her son James Ralph McFayden, Jr.; her wife Laura Tinsley McFayden of Wilmington; her daughters, Elizabeth McFayden Bryant (Austin) of Ellerbe and Christine McFayden Klein (Jeffery) of Atlanta; her grandchildren, Patrick Bryant of Ellerbe, Alex Bryant (Lauren) of Belmont, Pierson Klein and Paxton Klein; and her great grandchildren, Beau Bryant of Belmont and Charlotte Bryant of Belmont.
