She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Edgar and Renie Boyles Hamm; her husband Walter E. McDonald; and her siblings, Carrie Kiser, Hester Jenkins, Opal Hudson, Rachel Myers and Howard Hamm, Sr..
She is survived by: her daughters, Myrtle E. McDonald of Ellerbe and Shirley Richardson (Wayne) of Ellerbe; her grandsons, David Richardson of Ellerbe and Samuel Richardson (Tabitha) of Durham; and her great grandchildren, Addison Richardson of Durham and Jeremiah Richardson of Durham. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
