He is survived by: his pet Joy Williams; his daughter Kim Hefner (Chris) of Mocksville, NC; his stepdaughter Cindy Spears of Ellenboro; his sister Pat Hayes of Mocksville; his half-brother Dan Boone of High Point; and his grandchildren, Olivia Hefner and Matthew Hefner.
