He was predeceased by: his parent Paul Heafner. He is survived by: his parent Mary Estelle Heafner; his wife Dena Padgett Heafner; his children, Christina Allred and Michael Shannon Heafner of Ellenboro; his sisters, Pat Booth of Shelby and Ann Calton; and his granddaughters, Haleigh and Ainsley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Campfield Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 369 Campfield Church Road, Ellenboro, NC 28040.
