She was predeceased by: her parents, Thurman Whitaker and Mattie Greene Whitaker; her husband Benjamin Lee Hawkins; and her daughter Wanda Lee Hawkins Huber. She is survived by: her daughters, Sandra Curtis (Jim) of Millersville and Linda Fortner (Henry) of Shelby, NC; her sister Alice Matthews (Larry) of Acworth, Georgia; her grandchildren, Andrea Shepherd, Benjamin Huber (Nisha), Brooke Workman (Brandon) and McKenzie Fortner; and her great grandchildren, Alexander Kimbrell, Jackson Kimbrell, Grayson Kimbrell, Hailey Huber, Titus Huber, Briggs Workman and Bennett Workman.
