He was predeceased by: his parents, Arbra Toney and Hester Toney. He is survived by: his wife Jackie Taylor Toney; his children, Roger Edward "Eddie" Toney of Ellenboro, Susan Malinda Toney of Ellenboro and Kim Toney Lewis of Forest City; his brother Max Toney (Martha) of Sunshine; his grandchildren, Nigel White, Scott Overton-Toney, Taylor Lewis and Erin Lewis; his great grandchild Adelyn White; and his close friend Lydia Arrowood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
