She was predeceased by: her parents, Noah P. Padgett and Novella Melton Padgett; and her former husband J. C. Greene. She is survived by: her husband James R. Smith; her children, Shirley Pittman (Bill) of Ellenboro, Glennette Lavender of Ellenboro and Dean Greene (Elizabeth) of Matthews, NC; her grandchildren, Lisa Lavender Tauss (Frank), Todd Lavender (Amy), Jason Pittman (Courtney) and Katie Greene; and her great grandchildren, Taylor Givens, Addie Lavender, Ben Lavender and Caroline Pittman.
