He was predeceased by: his parent Cossie Flay Jones; his wives, Betty Whiteside Jones Clontz and Avis Hipps Thompson Jones; his daughter Kim Jones; his grandson Shane Chapman; and his siblings, Harold Jones, Tommy Wright and Newell Jones Vess.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon Hawkins (Ronald) of Ellenboro, NC, Renee Wright (David) of Ellenboro, NC and Don Jones of Ellenboro, NC; his close friend Joy Williams; and his parent Etta Lee McDaniel Jones. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
