He was predeceased by: his parents, James Garland and Frances Bution Garland. He is survived by: his wife Linda B. Garland; his daughters, Wendy Garland (Donny Beeson) of Ellenboro, NC and Christi Shive (Kerry) of Ellenboro, NC; his siblings, Bill Garland of Rutherfordton, NC, David Garland (Annette) of Rutherfordton, NC, Wanda Brinkley (Wayne) of Spruce Pine, NC, Penny Johnson (Daniel) of Bakersville, NC, Kathy Jones (Judd) of Rutherfordton, NC and Barbara Miller; his grandchildren, Tristan Causby, Shelby Causby, Devin Shive and Shawn Shive; and his great grandchild Maverick Causby.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Padgett & King Mortuary (227 E Main St, Forest City, NC 28043). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
