He is survived by: his wife Kay Owens Whitener; his children, Bryan Trotter (Diane) of Bostic, Lisa Farmer (Bobby) of Independence, Virginia, Sharon Ezell (Bryan) of Rutherfordton and Bobbie Trotter (Michael) of Hendersonville; and his sister Ruby.
