He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Shaffer and Marie Ridder Shaffer; and his wife Rachel Willis Shaffer. He is survived by: his children, Franklin Lee Shaffer of Ellenboro, Jane Shaffer of Rutherfordton and Melissa Cothran (Jimmy) of Georgetown; his siblings, Dave Shaffer (Annette) of Mobile and Shirley Carr (June) of Hendrix; his grandchildren, Beheler, Lee Beheler, Jeremy Walker, Frances Walker, Brandon Walker, Franklin Shaffer Jr. and Shannon Shaffer; and his close friend Cheryl Waddingham of Rutherfordton.
