He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Woodrow Thrift and Reba K. Powell Thrift; and his wife Margaret Faye Thrift. He is survived by: his sons, Dewey Lee Thrift of Ellenboro, James Gene Thrift of Mooresboro and Donald Ray Thrift of Forest City; his siblings, Joe Lee Thrift of Forest City and Juanita Toney of Forest City; his grandchildren, Anna Marie Thrift, Curtis Thrift and Veronica Bailey; and his great grandchild Joseph Ryan Stacy.
