She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Jerry Conard and Estalee Conard Waters; and her brothers, Steve Conard and Buddy Conard. She is survived by: her husband Ronnie Melton; her daughter Denise Melton Simpson; her son-in-law Matthew Simpson; her granddaughters, Blair Simpson of Indian Trail and Brynlee Simpson of Indian Trail; and her siblings, Kennie Duckett (Joyce) of Rutherfordton, Dewayne Conard (Debbie) of Union Mills and Jeannie Waters of Rutherfordton.
