She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. James Reece and Ruby Chappell Reece; her husband Alex David Smith; her son George Smith; and her siblings, Shelby White, Don Reece and Larry Reece.
She is survived by: her children, Gerald (Debbie) of Elkin and Debbie Wood (Kenny) of State Road; her grandsons, Joe Wood (Annika) of Elkin, Jared Smith of Elkin, Brett Smith of Elkin and Jesse Smith of Elkin; and her pets, Daisy, Bogie and Andy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shoaly Branch Baptist Church building fund, 1331 Shoaly Branch Church Road, Elkin, NC 28621.
