She was predeceased by: her parents, William Andrew and Nina Jessup Collins; her husband Clarence Wilson Melton of Zephyr; her sons, Clarence Wilson, Jr. and David Collins; and her siblings, Rachel Myers (Gilbert), Christine White (Ralph), James, Hal (Maxie), Cecil (Mabel) and Warren Collins.
She is survived by: her daughter Rebecca Melton Kafer (Charles William); her granddaughters, Alison Elizabeth Kafer (Dana Newlove) of Austin, TX, Lisa Michelle Kafer (Stanton Ezzell) of New Bern, NC and Katherine Melton Kafer (Curt Pryor) of Wilmington, NC; her great grandchildren, William, Alison, David Ezzell, Ayden and Kafer Pryor; and her sister-in-law Sarah Collins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Due to covid, only a graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p. m. at Crestwood Memorial Gardens in State Road, NC with Rev. John Attaway officiating.
