It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verlie Burchette Hodge of Elkin, North Carolina, who passed away on January 24, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Burchette and Nettie Mickel Burchette; her husband Paul Hodge; her grandson Matthew Hodge; and her siblings, J. B. Burchette, Howard Burchette, David Burchette, Baugie Burchette, Electa Collins and Luiza Burchette.
She is survived by: her sons, Jerry Hodge of Elkin and Lanny Hodge of Thurmond; her siblings, James Burchette (Virginia) of Clemmons, Flora Caudell of Cleveland, GA and Eva Davis of Lexington; and her grandchildren, Adam Hodge (Holly), Shannon Hodge and Lana Hodge Lucas (Scott). She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 593 Pleasant Hill Dr., Elkin, NC 28621.
