He is survived by: his wife Susan Akbas; his children, Tommy Akbas, Joshua Akbas, Linda Jo Shore (Shannon), Samantha Burton (James) and Alexis Akbas; his brothers, Okan Akbas and Ertan Akbas; his grandchildren, Brittany Hall, Savanna Shaw (Samantha Shaw), Chloe Shore, Abigail Burton, Anna Burton, Kyra Akbas and Areonna Akbas; his great grandchildren, Evie and Bowen; and his sister-in-law Frankie Boyd.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Elkin Funeral Service (560 North Carolina 268 W, Elkin, NC 28621). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Elkin Funeral Service Chapel (560 North Carolina 268 W, Elkin, NC 28621). A burial was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at the Crestwood Memorial Gardens (914 US-21, State Rd, NC 28676).
