He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Smith; and his sister Bonnie Kemp. He is survived by: his siblings, Sandra Cain (Fred) and David Smith; his stepsiblings, Dixson Parrish (Eunice) and Cynthia Merritt; his nephew Tim Kemp; and his nieces, Candice Fix (Chris) and Denise Smith.
