It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thelma Slawter Gentry of Elkin, North Carolina, who passed away on April 12, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emery Ellis and Collins Slawter of Nevada; her husband Roger A. Gentry; her sons, Chris Gentry and Andy Gentry; her grandson Luke Gentry; and her daughter-in-law Penny Walker.
She is survived by: her children, Tim Gentry (Karen) and Sue Dobbins (Steve); her daughter-in-law Mary Gentry (Ted); her grandchildren, Allison, Andrew (Callie), Ronny (Jon), Cord, Aaron (Ashley) and Nikki (Jared); her great grandchildren, Jackson and Ella; her sister Alma Martin; and her cousins, Joyce and Lindy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
