He was predeceased by: his father Roger "R. G.". He is survived by: his wife Wanda Cooper Swaim; his daughters, Angie Swaim of Pfafftown and Beth Recchio (Joey Matteo) of Winston-Salem; his siblings, Roger Swaim of Elkin and Cheryl Hinshaw (Phil) of Winston-Salem; and his grandson Nick Lawrence.
