With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ralph Conley Smoot of Elkin, North Carolina, who passed away on January 3, 2021 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Vernon and Nonar Gambill Smoot; his sisters, Myrtle Lou Wagoner and Magdalene S. Shore; and his great grandchild Gracie Branon.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret G. Smoot; his daughters, Kathy Vanhoy (Wayne) of Jonesville and Dianne Mantero (Joaquin) of Elkin; his sisters, Edna Rayle of Boonville and Carrie "Butch" Gilliam of Yadkinville; his grandchildren, Melissa Branon and Matthew Smith; his great grandchildren, Tyler Branon (Megan) and Shawn Branon; and his great great grandchild Cali Branon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Elkin Valley Trails Association, PO Box 91, Elkin, NC 28621.
