She was predeceased by: her parents, Thad Watson and Annie Lee Royall Swaim; her husband Noah Raeford Mathis; her son Bobby Watson Mathis; her grandson David Raeford Mathis; her great grandchild Kaleb Luke Combs; her siblings, Kenneth Swaim, Steve Swaim and Shirley Shores; and her children-in-law, Michael Lyons, Randel Combs and Patricia Louise Mathis.
She is survived by: her children, Jimmie Raeford Mathis of Elkin, Danny Gray Mathis (Diane) of Jonesville, Janet Vestal (Pete) of Yadkinville, Kathy Huggins (Gregory) of Jonesville, Wendy Combs of Elkin and Susan Hooker (Terry) of Roaring River; her grandchildren, Michelle North, Johnny Ray Vestal, Teaskhea Mathis, Bobby Lee Mathis, Billy Joe Mathis, Alisha Mathis, Randel Combs, Jr., Joseph Brent Combs and Austin Brady Hooker; her great grandchildren, Lilly North, Spencer North, Ruby North, Brenda Mathis, Mikey Ball, Hailey Holcomb, Hunter Combs, Noah Combs, Emma Combs, Ivy Rose Combs and Lisa Gail Combs; and her pet Mater.
