He was predeceased by: his wife Charlotte Tucker Gilliam; and his brothers, Wayne Gilliam and Tony Gilliam. He is survived by: his parents, Jackson Eugene and Flora Cockerham Gilliam; and his sister Betty Kallam (Jim) of Norfolk, Virginia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
