It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lonnie Wayne Shelton Sr. of Elkin, North Carolina, who passed away on February 26, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Johnson Shelton, Jr. and Fannie Ola White Shelton. He is survived by: his wife Judy Barker Shelton; his children, Junior Shelton, Chris Shelton (Robyn), Andy Shelton and April Benton (Paul); and his brother Gilbert Shelton (Sue). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 633 Friendship Baptist Church Road, Elkin, NC 28621.
