She was predeceased by: her parent Ira Grant Cothren; her husband David Alan Royal; her grandparents, John, Lela Brown, Bonson and Callie Cothren; and her father-in-law J. C. Royal.
She is survived by: her mother Shirley Brown Grubbs (Stephen) of Cana, VA; her brother Calvin Cothren of Jonesville; and her mother-in-law Tonia Spicer (Larry) of Elkin. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the local church or volunteer fire department of the donor's choice.
