He was predeceased by: his parents, Earlie Combs and Eva Burcham Combs; his wife Laura Marie Park Combs; his son Keith Edward Combs; his sisters, Lucille Combs O'Neal, Shirley Combs Hampton, Betty Combs Holbrook and Frankie Combs Philley; and his son-in-law Ralph Coe.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff Combs (Joyce) of Elkin and Elaine Combs Coe of Elkin; his daughter-in-law Jo Ann Nelson Combs of Elkin; his brother Richard Combs of Statesville; his grandchildren, Andrea Poindexter (Rob), Karla Combs and Jon Combs (Michelle); his stepgrandsons, Nathan Hanks and Jacob Hanks (Stephanie); and his great grandchildren, Aaron Poindexter (Kayleigh), Anna Poindexter, Ben Poindexter, Samantha Combs and Fletcher Combs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 633 Friendship Church Rd, Elkin, NC 28621.
