It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura Craven Overbey (Elkin, North Carolina), who passed away on September 1, 2021, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Carrol Ray "C. R."; and her close friend L. W. "Bill" Wells. She is survived by: her children, John Overbey, Jr. of Fuquay Varina and Marian Ashley Gordon (Tyler) of Rock Hill, SC; her adoptive daughter Tonya Taylor of Warrenton; her sisters, Celia Lemble (Scott) of Durango, CO and Celia Self of Atlanta, GA; her grandchildren, Aideen Gordon, Malin Gordon, Erith Gordon and Ander Gordon; her former husband John "Bill" Overbey, Sr.; and her pets, Bella Rose and Kissi Face.
