He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth George and Edna Hooven Farmer, Sr.; and his former wife Marian Taylor Farmer. He is survived by: his wife Pamela H. Farmer; his brothers, Joe Farmer (Tina) of North Wilkesboro and Curtis Farmer (Pamela) of Wilkeboro; his niece Sasha Farmer; and his nephew Neal Farmer.

The family requests memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
