He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph David and Hartence Lovie Darnell Vestal; his brother Donald "Butch" Vestal; and his granddaughter Carrie Ann Vestal. He is survived by: his wife Lucy H. Vestal; his sons, Christopher Lee Vestal (Ashley) of Westfield and David Gardner Vestal (Rachel) of Clemmons; and his grandchildren, Kenneth Vestal, Jazper Romanyszyn and Delaney Vestal.
