He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruben Hanks and Virgie Creed Hanks; and his siblings, Arvil Hanks and Irene Wilhelm. He is survived by: his daughters, Martha Edwards (Allen) of Ronda and Marlene Simpson (Kevin) of Elkin; and his brother Marvin Hanks of Winston-Salem. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
