He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Floyd Mooney and Flossie Mae Caudill Mooney; his son-in-law Oral Ray Jordan; and his brother Tom Mooney. He is survived by: his wife Pauline Baker Mooney; his daughters, Robin Mooney of Kernersville and Dawn Hatcher (Mike) of Dobson; his grandchildren, LeAndra Marsh-Hettig (Matthew) of Binghamton, NY, Johnathan Marsh of Mocksville, James Ray Jordan (Theresa) of Rock Hill, SC, Nathan Jordan of Mocksville and Nolan Jordan (Carly Johnson) of Dobson; his great grandchildren, Skylar MaeFahey of Binghamton, NY, Josephine Jordan of Rock Hill, SC and Eisley Jordan of Rock Hill, SC; and his sister-in-law Nancy Mooney of State Road.
