He was predeceased by: his parents, Worth McCann and Ellen Pettyjohn McCann; his wife Evelyn Burchette McCann; his sisters, Dorthy Busby and JoAnn Martin; his sister-in-law Sandra White; his brother Mickey; and his sister-in-law Sharon Burchette.
He is survived by: his children, Eric McCann (Missy) of Apel, IA and Julia McCann Johnson of State Road; his sisters, Elsie Campbell of Landis, Betty Collins of Winston-Salem and Cordia Smith (Randell) of Pinehill, NC; his grandchildren, Zachary Johnson (Codi), Joshua Johnson (Danielle), Matthew Johnson, Joe McCann and T. J. McCann; his great grandchild Addison Johnson; and his sister-in-law Joan Walker.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (593 Pleasant Hill Dr, Elkin, NC 28621). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at the Crestwood Memorial Gardens (914 US-21, State Rd, NC 28676).
Flowers will be accepted and memorials can be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
